Atlantic Watersport Games 2010 

The Welsh Yachting Association is scoping the prospects of attending the 2010 Atlantic Nautical Games:
The event taking place on the 1st – 5th August is being hosted by the city of Santander, North Spain.

The event in its 16th year comprises 6 Water-sport disciplines from Sail Boat Racing to Surfing, K1 K2, and diving.  The event annually attracts over 500 competitors from now over 13 regions Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Cornwall, Devon, Brittany, Aquitaine, Asturias, Euskadi, Galicia, Norte Portugal, Andalucía, Canarias, Cataluña and all regions and countries of the Atlantic Area. 

Each national authority may enter a team, and would normally reside in the team accommodation organised by the organising authority of Santander. 

The 2010 Team shall Comprise of a maximum:
2 Senior Optimists (Boy or Girl)
2 Junior Optimists (Boy or Girl
2 Laser 4.7 (Boy or Girl)
2 Laser Radial Boy
1 Laser Radial Girl
2 420 Boys
1 420 Girls
[By Invitation]
With open classes by application in 29er and OD racer in a supplied J80.
Age and selection restrictions will apply to the selected classes as set out within the notice of selection. 

Costs and Logistics?
For invitational members – the WYA have joined with CBYC to organise and part fund travel logistics for the team.  It is currently envisaged it will cost of between £400-£500 for full travel options to include, flights, boats transport, entry and accommodation in the team hotel. 

Sailors applying for the J80 Keelboat spot, if approved are to make independent arrangements and payment.
