The 15th Interceltic and Atlantic Games will be held in the Area Metropolitana do Porto, Portugal from 1st to 6th August 2009

- Sailing in Matosinhos (Marina of Leixões)
- Surf in Matosinhos (Leça beach, nexto to the Marina of Leixões)
- Rowing and Kayak sprint, polo in Gaia, facing the Historical Centre of Oporto
- Sea Rowing and sea kayak: races between Gaia, the Douro's mouth and Matosinhos
- Swimming with fins next to the Edifício Transparente (Porto)
- Submarine photography in Peniche (Berlengas Islands) 200 kms south

- Parade of the Opening Ceremony from the Village of Gaia to the Ribeira place in Oporto (crossing the Eiffel Bridge)
- Opening Ceremony on Ribeira Place (Oporto)
- Celtic Market: Gaia on the Douro shore
