Port Dinorwic SC Frostbite series kicks off on Saturday 1st November through to the 13th December with two races each weekend. The first start each weekend will be at 13:00 and entry for the series and boat park fees are FREE for anyone who would like to join in with racing. There is an excellent galley which will be serving hot food & drinks thought the series, catering for all a sailor could need!
Fast Fleet – No boat is clear favourite to take the fast fleet title, with many boats being able to take a race win. Some of the contenders are: Chris Gowers & June Riley (RS400), can Gowers put his own coaching skills into practice after coaching Paul Goodson to gold in the Olympics?; Chris Hogan (RS400) fresh from another title in the squibs a few weekends ago will be hard to beat in the light; Dave Jones & Mark Hogan (RS400) always national championship contenders and Andy Long & Lou Asman (RS 400) quickest when it’s windy.
Medium Fleet – Over the past year the numbers in this fleet have swelled due to a current trend in the club for single-handers. So with a crowded start line getting a good start is critical. The competition will be between; John Mackie should be in good form after touring the UK with his Finn; Alex Morrison in his Phantom; If winds are light Richard Date is hard to beat in his Solo; Ken Newing with the best local knowledge in his Laser. .
