The Green Blue was set up by RYA and BMF (British Marine Federation) to encourage good practice by recreational boaters with regard in to the environment. As the Welsh development Officer, I work at the WYA office at Plas Menai, just outside Caernarfon.
Doing things right by the environment is the same as doing it right as a sailor, power boater, windsurfer or personal watercraft user. We provide information to recreational boat users to help them preserve the environment.
To help boat users, TGB has looked at a range of issues covering all aspects of recreational boating and the environment and have produced leaflets and Fact Sheets giving information and good advice. www.thegreenblue.org.uk/publications/index.asp
Welsh versions are available at www.thegreenblue.org.uk/wales/Welshpublications.htm
Topics covered include:
- Anti foul
- Oil and fuel
- Boat maintenance
- Wild life
- Alien species
- Waste and resources
