OnBoard Community Development Officer

£20,979 per annum

Plas Menai National Watersports Centre, in partnership with the Welsh Yachting Association, wish to appoint an OnBoard Community Development Officer to coordinate and develop the centre’s community activities and develop a major RYA initiative, called OnBoard within North Wales.

OnBoard is a national RYA programme which aims to increase the number of young people who regularly participate in sailing activities. As a development worker for OnBoard you will work with a range of sailing clubs, sailing centres, schools and youth organisations to initiate more local watersports opportunities for young people in North Wales.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of community development projects and hold relevant watersports coaching qualifications and experience of teaching watersports. A degree level education and good IT skills will be desirable.

The ability to communicate fluently through the medium of Welsh is a necessity in the role and the post-holder will have to undertake a CRB check.
