The WYA is looking to contract a Head Coach for the WYA Youth Sailing Academy to oversee the training and competition program of the Single Handed sailors. The role will entail approximately 40 - 56 days a year with further double handed responsibilities possible depending on the applicant.
The Academy Head Coach is responsible for the top Welsh Laser sailors including overseeing and delivering an annual training program, competition support at major UK and potential overseas competition as well as working directly with the Academy sailors on a bespoke basis.
Further responsibilities with the double handed Academy sailors and Laser 4.7 Squad may also be required.
The Academy Head Coach will be supported and managed by the WYA High Performance Manger and will receive further support from the appointed Bangor University Sports Physiologist.
The Academy Head Coach shall be part of the WYA Performance Committee that oversees the strategic direction of the performance program. The Academy Head Coach may also liaise with the Regional Development Officers in assisting with the open training programs in Wales.
The Academy Head Coach main responsibility is to deliver a well-planned and structured Youth Program to the standards agreed with the WYA High Performance Manager and the WYA Performance Committee.
